Seaplane community & opportunities

Oklahoma

Oklahoma does not have a specific seaplane access law, with a few exceptions, i.e. lakes on Indian Reservations and some large wildlife areas which are clearly depicted on Sectionals. Most lakes are open to seaplanes in Oklahoma.

A wonderful lake is Lake Eufaula which starts just NE of McAlester, Ok. and runs NNE for almost 100 miles, compromising a series of lakes along the Canadian River up to just north of Eufaula. Further NE, Tenkiller Ferry Lake offers another great seaplane destination, in that the shoreline has some beautiful cliffs and forested areas. There are more than 100+ beautiful lakes that can be used by seaplanes in Oklahoma.

There is usually a seaplane fly-in in the NE area of Oklahoma each year.
