Seaplane community & opportunities

Maryland

There is a limited amount of seaplane activity going on in Maryland. The state does not effectively have useable inland bodies of water, however, there is some saltwater/brackish operations occurring on Chesapeake Bay. From time to time there has been talk of establishing commercial seaplane service to the Washington DC metro area, but the Seaplane Pilots Association is cautious about this from a security threat perspective and the potential for even a perception of a/this threat which would have the potential to show seaplanes in a very visible negative light in the media.
