Tony Debany lives in Watertown Connecticut and is the owner of Sport Flying of Connecticut LLC, a flight school based in Danbury CT specializing in seaplane and tailwheel training. For seaplane
training, he is currently operating a new Husky A1C on amphibs, a factory built Searey and a J3 cub on strait floats.
Tony started flying 25 years ago adding Commercial and Instructor ratings, and accumulating 8000 hours of PIC time, much of that in tailwheel and seaplanes. He has been a national light sport airplane Designated Pilot Examiner land and sea for 10 years.
Past aviation experience includes General Manager of a full service FBO for 5 years and chief pilot for a large part 61 flight school for 10 years. With his expertise in light sport, civilian pilot training and seaplanes, Tony was hired, as part of the team, to build the training program for the new ICON A5 Light Sport amphibious aircraft and was one of the first 5 people qualified as PIC in the aircraft.
Tony has been a FAASTeam Rep for the Windsor Lockes FISDO for 12 years. With an intimate knowledge of Connecticut waterways he strives to be an advocate and promote the safe and environmentally friendly operation of seaplanes in Connecticut.
